I know 5 star loves you posting these videos for advertising. But these 5 star videos are fun and I enjoy them. It also shows you what these things can do for not a lot of money.

Damn. They are getting real close to what my old freightliner put out back in the 90s. It had a 430 N14 cummins. Rated at 430 hp and 1650 tq. I think peak tq started a 1300 and carried thru 2000 before any effective drop off. I dont remember where peak hp was. Crazy numbers for a pickup.

Wow
Great review and I did not realize the power that the 2020 puts out.
My neighbor has a super duty and he's happy with the power. Now I believe him because I thought it was a bunch of bullcrap. Man I'm wrong again.😁

Always best to run the transmission in 1-1 on a chassis dyno, but since the 2019 6 speed didn't have 1-1 they ran it in 5th at .85-1, makes sense. Since the test goal was to compare 2019 truck performance to 2020 truck performance it would have been interesting to do a second set of runs on the 2020 in 8th gear (also .85-1) to see if that dropped the HP. Like others are saying the 2020 in 1-1 should probably be corrected with a lower loss factor (10-15%), but the 2019 in .85-1 may be more like 15-20%. That 10 speed will also help improve performance on the road over the 6 speed, locking up the torque converter earlier and keeping the engine higher on the HP curve.

I have been GM trucks and cars even since 2005 area. These Ford numbers are just like Holy I might have to get rid of my Chevy bowtie belt buckle for a new Ford oval.

I'm impressed by the lack of driveline loss in the 2020 Super Duty. It is astounding the numbers this engine can produce... just think! 25 years ago, the first-gen PowerStroke produced 210hp and 425lb-ft of torque. How far we've come!

(Hp and torque numbers cited from MotorWeek's retro-review video, "Dually Shootout.")

These guys are gonna put motor trend out of business, and I hope they do.

I really like the outside style of the 2019 over the 2020, but those internals...🤯

This new 6.7L engine is a beast! I can't wait to get my hands on one and see what they do when tuned! PS: anything past a 1:1 ratio is consider "over driven" because the output is higher than the input, hence the term "overdrive" so even 8th gear is considered overdrive!

It's always good to know the 'truth' about advertised values, isn't it?
Now, I'm looking forward to hear the 'news' about the new gasoline powered engine/transmission.

I just find it humorous reading some of the comments. Andrew and the guys are doing a great job. We who are over 40 and 50 can remember that back in the day....not long ago in the 70s and 80s and most the 90s, we bought trucks 1500s, f150s, 3/4 tons, most all had a has motor, we didnt have tow ratings like today, didn't have the over hyped stickersnon the door etc. Etc. We hooked up whatever cattle trailer or camper we had or wanted and we pulled on down the road. No computer to remind us what bad gas mileage we were getting, no man ever telling you at the gas station that you shouldnt be pulling any certain rig unless he saw your front tires off the ground lol. We have become a society of numbers junkies. I bought an f150 crew with the 5.0 in 2015. I have 98000 miles on it now. I pull a 16 foot enclosed trailer EVERY day that weighs 9000 to 11000 pounds depending on the day and I pull a 29' camper every other weekend 120 miles. Have hauled diesel 1 tons in a flatbed and pull an equipment trailer with a 8000 pound bobcat a few times a week about 60 to 80 miles. That's normal and its something up until the past 5 or 10 years that was normal for most working men. I've done the same exact weekly run for 30 years with 1500s, 6.5 non turbo 2500s, 7.3 f250 and tk be honest the f150 5.0 does it better than any ever did and I dont hesitate to actually work my truck. When it comes to having to have the latest and greatest I think some take it too far. Use common sense. Stay in budget. Work the truck.

Thanks for the dyno results. I just got a new 2020 F250 PSD. The holeshot could use some improvement but power comes on very quick afterward. I am still breaking it in but I did one 40 roll and a dig against my buddy's stock 2019 F250 PSD and he was shocked how fast I ran away from him. I am amazed at the performance of such a big heavy truck. I will probably add tuning when it has been road proven and that will be it. I am also amazed at how quiet this 2020 PSD idles. Maybe it gets louder with age.
