You can't force people to want to live under your rule if they don't want to, Ukraine is a perfect example, the Ukrainians do not want to be Russians, they have there own sovereign country and Russia needs to understand that. China would do major damage in a conventional war, but it would be deafeted by the USA and all its allies in the region, India, Japan, Australia, South Korea and the Phillipines. China could ally with Russia, North Korea and Iran and thus WW3 would begin and it would be nuclear and no one would win.
