Im a Brit, who knows a fair bit about the 2nd Amendment, have travelled extensively in the US, and know quite a lot about the "real" gun crime statistics. Recently I was party to a conversation where a bunch of British liberals, good people, started talking about America, gun control and mass shootings.

When I tried to point out that a blanket ban on legally owned firearms in the US would not significantly affect gun crime, I got weird looks from people. When I tried to explain that most active shooter situations occur in GUN FREE zones, I got even weirder looks. When I tried to point out that the Paris attacks would have ended much sooner if there was legal carry in Paris, everyone in the room looked at me like I was a nutcase.

Everything I said was statistically and factually true. Nevertheless, for trying to explain that "banning law abiding American Citizens from owning guns wont stop mass shootings" ... I got labelled.

I am now apparently a "survivalist", a "gun nut" and a "psycho".

I consider myself a liberal, but Id like to think Im a well informed liberal. It upsets me that the party line for most liberals is "guns are bad, ban guns" .. and they do not give two shits about the facts.

As a liberal, I experience this all the time from my fellow liberals... and frankly conservatives that think because I am a liberal I hate guns. One issue, does not define you as a person.

I have a lot of respect for this guy. Very knowledgable and love watching his videos. He makes his points clear in a respectable mature way. Glad we still have guys like this left in the world.

Great commentary, man. I definitely have socio-political positions on certain subjects that vastly differ from those of other gun owners. I know how much we differ on those points, so I keep it out of the conversation. To keep our gun rights, we need to come together where we intersect, and where we don't, don't be bothered by it. We're all sharing the same steak dinner, but we don't all need to have cheesecake for dessert.

I defend ALL of the Constitution and amendments, so that's why I'm conservative, just like the founders of this country. They wanted small government and big freedom.

No one fits any box. We all seem to have given up on the two corporate owned parties. We think for ourselves and we all learn from each other.

Clap, Clap, Clap. It's like you read my mind. I consider myself and Independent Conservative. At the same time that doesn't mean I only listen to what other conservatives tell me, because how would that make me independent. Gun ownership is an independents individuals right weather they choose to acknowledge it or not.
