When you get Mike Love and Bruce Johnston to participate in a cover of one the best Brian Wilson's compositions, you know it is NOT just a cover - it is a resurrection and recreation.

I've said this before, but whoever is taking the time to arrange, let alone rehearse and get this stuff up to this standard, is seriously talented and deserves an award themselves!
Talk about a labour of love!

String quartet, French horn quartet, bass flute, bass harmonica...nothing left out or cheated on. Well done Fendertones and friends.

Possibly Brian Wilson's best composition of all. Brilliant rendition. The Fendertones need to come back to life. NOW.

Darian Sahanaja is an absolutely amazing world-class musician who should be a superstar! I loved his work with Brian Wilson helping him bring us "Smile" and Surf's Up still gives me chills.

As a Beach Boy fan, it really hurts that I have just gotten to "meet" these guys so much later. In 2021. They are just sensational.

This might be the greatest tribute to Brian Wilson.

Amazing! Brian Wilson's masterpiece. Mike Love and Bruce Johnston too, with their backing band. Blown away.

When you happen to have a REALLY good cover bad, and the actual Beach Boys show up to jam along with you, you know you have something truly special. Great job!

When Mike Love first flashes up on the screen at 3:17 it blew me away. He may be controversial and not everyone likes him, but, damn he has presence and charisma. When you think of the late '60's early '70's BB's he epitomizes them. Mike, you're awesome!

How am I listening to this for the first time, in 2024? This was a perfect rendition which was nearly impossible to achieve.

There is reverence here. You can hear it, see it, and feel it. The care taken to play this composition is as attentive as anyone playing Sibelius, Mozart, or Saint-Saens. We are lucky to be a part of it as the audience. God bless Brian Wilson.

Stunning in its beauty, this cover version is guided by the delicate interpretation of Darian Sahanaja. Without Darian, there is no 2004 "Brian Wilson Presents Smile" album. Thanks for sharing Brian and Van Dyke Parks' sublime offering, Edwin.
