How to keep FOCUS when FILMING Manual. Specially with Panasonic Cameras.

Shooting in Manual Focus is a lot easier as you can just hold one hand on camera while the other hand can be on the focus ring of the lens. Gimbal shots are a lot more tricky but can be done as well.

I missed something...set the aperature to 2.8 or higher but do I have to lock in the focus on the subject? Thank you.

Thanks for sharing this, I picked up the Lumix S5 and have been trying to get better with the Manual Focus on it since autofocus on Lumix is shaky.

Do you set the lens to Infinity focus?

Bro this was super helpful. I do indie films and I love the look of a prime for certain shots. I shot with AF and it was terrible kept searching. As long as I'm still cool but if I'm moving it's a wrap. So I switched to MF and it was much better but it was still kind of difficult .moving and focusing at the same time. lol im getting better but I'm a try the wide lens too. Good look. Subbed

agree with the wide angle lens part..moving shots look better with wide angle lenses.. one thing i have been loving recently is setting my end point and set focus on that and then move in or out ..at f4 / f5.6

I hope this can help. You don't necessarily need these lenses. Im sure there's other ones. These two lenses just happen to work for me.

What do you think about the panasonic Lumix 16 to 35 Wide angle?

but while filming you still use focus peaking? Because the middle point looks not so easy to guess. I use the GH5S and 14-140mm F3.5-5.6 panasonic lens. It went wrong last weekend shooting dancing kids inside a church for their communion. I used face tracking and went with DJI ronin sc from the left to right and a bit forward (for the children dancing on the second row) but face tracking didn't worked well. So I discovered you video for manual focus. This was a great video Mario. thank you.
