Klee Irwin - Why Use an 8-Dimensional Shape to Describe 3-Dimensional Reality?

Klee talks about why it first occurred to him to use E8 for unification physics, and why even bother using an 8-dimensional object to describe a 3-dimensional universe. He discusses his method of using E8 for unification physics by projecting a slice of the E8 lattice to 4D thereby creating a quasicrystal known as the Elser-Sloane quasicrystal, from which he and his team derive the Quasicrystalline Spin Network (QSN.)

Trippy.. I was just imagining essentially everything he says in this video while driving in my car. Decided to do a YouTube search asking “do atoms exist in another dimension” randomly click on this video after scrolling a bit and this guy literally starts describing what I was imaging. I’m so amazed by Klee and his creative thinking, somewhere deep inside I feel he’s right even though I only understand 1% of what he says, mostly because of all the technical terminology, I get the principle but would love to hear his thoughts translated into something a bit more digestible for the less initiated.

I'm curious what the "hyper-vector or hyper-projector" is conceptually. I have also considered if we were merely information on the event horizon of a higher dimensional blackhole being holographically projected through the singularity to appear as a physical universe. My biggest problem with this idea is how the information is being projected into a lower dimensional form. What is projecting and what exactly is being projected by it?

Excellent food for thought in this video. You mentioned "unpack" "recover", coming from an engineering background, this sounds like you are trying to say "reverse engineer", this has been one of humanity's biggest conundrums which was not possible to reach until we have exhausted understanding of all the parts of the whole in science and then also see to it why we can't go any further. Worthy of mention is that we have exhausted search efforts at extremely expensive proton colliders/accelerators such as CERN. Historically, we have never really tried to "deeply" or "hypothetically" reverse-engineer the process of life, our own existence along with our collective interpretation of emergence down to the organized rigid crystalline structure to the extent that you guys (Klee et.al.) are doing. Using the child as a product of a mother and father analogy will be the way to move forward with advanced understanding and eventually unification of physics and subatomic physics. Everything, even knowledge of things or "gnosis" emerges with time, given the right environment, circumstances and sequences (patterns) and the right people at the right time. Also, "reality isn't 8-dimensional", I agree, it's not a good way to use in describing reality. Reality is superfluous, always moving, appearing and reappearing, dispersing and rejoining or regathering in clusters (clusters of thought). Once you bring in water or any other fluous substance and use it to describe how the E8 behaves when it meets such fluous substances (which appear liquid in its behavior-observed or simulated in computer) then we might be able to describe the mechanics of "reality" as we have come to understand its many parts and universal scales today. I think we all now know (or some have always known) and can all agree that everything unifies with one another at some or many universal points in the scale of things. We are back at the problem of how do we communicate it all in a more simplified language. Perhaps our search is now in how do we devise a way to "bridge" everything in let's say, one big complete image or diagram. It's as if we almost have to make adjustments to our current system of language and especially that of mathema'tics. But as I see it, there is still much nailing down of space and time before we make huge leaps forward. One solution is to continue to seek spiritually that which we long for while in pursuit of work/efforts to unify physics or come to closer in understanding and discerning our spiritual nature. I hope this makes sense as I am running short on time. I may come back to edit this comment if time allows.

Are we as humans a projection of something in a much higher dimension? And if so, according to Klee, can we obtain information about our "E8 counterpart" just by studying ourselves?

But why stop at E8 and not say that it is a projection of a higher dimension, that itself is a projection of a higher dimension etc... The question asked at 5:15 was on point I think and that's exactly what I'm missing. Why define a lower dimensional quasi-cristal by its eight dimension and specifically this one ?
At 7:03 Klee Irwin talks about someone seeing the projection of a cube in 2D and then going either in higher or lower dimensions. But then he says the quasi-cristal is a 3D shadow of an 8th dimension. Why did he choose eight or stopped at eight when looking at higher dimensions of our 3D world ?
