Handling this situation the RIGHT way means you get your weekly check but doing it the WRONG way means no pay and a big fight. So I made this video just for you so you'll know what to do. I hope you enjoy it.

In workers' compensation cases, it's crucial to obtain a work status note from your doctor every time you visit, maintaining your status until your next appointment. Provide copies of these notes to your attorney, the insurance company, and your employer to ensure they are aware of your off-work status and facilitate potential compensation.

Be cautious if your treating doctor, often assigned by the insurance company or employer, recommends returning to work prematurely, as their interests may not align entirely with yours.
If you feel unready to return to work despite your doctor's recommendation, consider switching to a doctor who will advocate for your best interests.

If advised to attempt modified or light-duty work, it's generally recommended to try it, but if it proves unsafe or unmanageable, seek another evaluation and document any discrepancies between recommended and actual work duties.

If you find yourself in a position where your doctor suggests you return to work, Scott recommends trying it out, but also emphasizes the importance of seeking a fair examination if you believe it would be dangerous for you. Additionally, he addresses light-duty job assignments and what to do if your employer disregards your work restrictions.

Dealing with a back injury. Literally everything he has said, is what has happened.

I've been in the midst of a WC injury cause for nearly 3 yrs. The WC insurance company is vile and playing games. I feel my attorney is not doing anything to help me. I sustained ulnar nerve damage to my R (dominant) hand. I was put on "work restrictions" by my treating MD and my employer is refusing abide by restrictions- have doubled my workload, working in a high-volume typing job, when I cannot use my R hand.

I've reinjured myself four times now trying to do the work I was given as "light duty" and the company and WSIB is getting really short tempered with me. I fear I will be fired soon

What if it's not a Comapany doctor but a doctor that you chose. My example is that my Orthopedic Dr. said I need Rotary Cuff Surgery and Bicep Surgery and put me on light duty work before the surgery even happened? I cannot understand why he would do this

Hey man thanks for your videos can you do a video on why insurance doctor doesn’t want to assign impairment rating after the FCE said I can’t go back to work and I’m 26 I’m guessing that’s why and I have herniated disc cervical and lumbar area

I injured my back 3 times pulling a produce truck. Been on light duty for about a month, but my job basically has me doing everything the same except for pulling the truck. Saw my doctor today and she was trying to get me to go back to no restrictions, but I told her I’m still in pain and that I have some good days and some bad days. So she decided to keep me on my restrictions until I’m done with physical therapy and then I can return back to full duty. I know you’re saying we should return to work and at least try to attempt to do the work, but what if they have me pulling a produce truck again? Which they prob will. What should I do? I feel like I’m gonna injury myself bad to the point I won’t be any good later in life and I’m already 39. I’ve been depressed since I got the news.

I have a question. I was asked by my company doctors nurse if I could go back to work on light duty while I waited for approval for hand surgery I said yes but my employer doesn't appear to want to accommodate.

My employer contacted my surgeon and got him to change the note from TTD to return light duty.

My employer was the one who notified me about it.

I’m not getting an answer from my surgeon anymore and I have NOT seen the note!

Theres no updated hospital info on their health portal. It still says I’m off. Really strange
