Thanks Thiru Charles. You seem to be a humble person, with respect for other people’s festivals, a great thing. I think the answer to the last question is 3y/2-6. I guess 3y/2+6, as solved by you is a typo. Otherwise you are incapable of erring.

P.S. Thiru is a respectful prefix in Tamil, a South Indian language.

Question 9 is wrong. It's not asking how many gallons are in the tank it's asking the mpg for the city. once you find the gallons in the tank you need to divide the city miles by the number of gallons.

Q9, is asking how many miles per gallon did the care travel in the city not how many total gallon in the tank, so the answer should be (B) 336 miles/ 21 gallons = 16.

Easier way to do the last question 10 - using test cases

assume D=20, F=8, therefore(NOW) D+F = 28

In 28 years Fred will be 36

plug in Y value to answer and see if you get 36

answer is D -

(28*3)/2 -6 = 42-6 = 36

Freds age = 36

for question 9 I got 16 by doing

462x = 336 (x-6)

126x = 2016

x = 16

was this just a fluke?
