How do you compare two things in Executive Assessment sentence correction? Should you use 'like' or should you use 'as'? Is it 'as many as' or 'as many than'?

In this video, Bransen -- a GMAT Ninja tutor -- takes a look at how the Executive Assessment uses comparisons in sentence correction questions. He'll show you how to identify the right way of comparing two things in a question and how to use this knowledge to efficiently eliminate answer choices.

These videos are so so good. I am genuinely wondering - what the catch is here? These are quality videos I would pay top dollar for. Sounds insane that you are giving this away for free. I really love it. You guys are probably all situated in different countries, but are consistent in your first principles teaching style. Something of a pdf booklet - that collates all the questions/concepts (literally can be screengrabs from the different videos) would be so so helpful for students out there and a class way to attract the spectrum of students that are "reading" learners, similar to the ones you target through your blog - just a suggestion, understand you guys are the experts I will wrap up again saying, thank you so much and I'll go back to wondering what the catch for such top quality education is haha. Cheers :D

The approach is real good for sure. As shared earlier it clears the fundamental pillars of concepts the way no one else would do( most videos & ads I see about gmat say - " Score 800+ out of 800 in GMAT in 15 days, Score V55 of V51 in 20 days etc...")..between all that stuff this really helps.

One repeat request: If you like the idea of premiering like 2 videos every week, it would be great.

Hi, in Q1, a single set of strings is a singular subject so shouldn't the verb attached to it be 'runs'

Hello. In the truck sales question (Q3 in video), will option B be the best choice if it was

" but even when it is compared with previous Novembers, this past November" ?

Or will we still go with option A??

I understand why C is correct in the harpsicord question from a comparison standpoint. However, "single set of strings".... Wouldn't set require the verb runs?

Great series! One Q, in the Virginal question. How can D be right if "A set of things" is a singular noun, so run should be in the singular form runs. Thanks!

@GMATNinjaTutoring- I have a query in Almost like clone cheetah species' (Option A) & cheetah species (option B), why clone cant be compared to Cheetah alone . Is it because Cheetah is acting as adjective here? Request you to pl. clarify if possible.

Great Series! One question: I was under the impression that it is not grammatically correct to use "when compared with/to" or "when contrasted with/to", but the answer choice for "Question 3: November is traditionally..." does mention the term "when compared to". Does this mean we can use "when compared with/to" or "when contrasted with/to" in sentences and should not eliminate choices when we see that usage?

Hello! i have a doubt, i will really appreciate it if you can help me with it.

In the question 1 - you have ruled out option C stating that it compared the inst 1 with the case of inst 2, but then in the answer choice D - modifier of inst 1 used a collective noun (set of strings) which should have been followed by singular verb (runs) but then it uses 'run'. Doesn't that make it a subject verb agreement error?

And can you tell me what is the error in option C because when it states in the case of inst 2, it is still comparing inst 1 with inst 2 and that too without making any subject verb errors.

Hello if you can provide some more examples of when "as many as" is used vs. "as many than". i tried finding on internet but there aren't many especially for "as many than".

I thought for the as comparison, you also need a verb in the clause? so in the example with XYZ corporation, as can be modified to say "as other companies did" to make it correct?

In the harpsichord question, I did not get why is it wrong to say, (in option C) "unlike virginal, .. In the case of harpsichord..."? (it sounds good)

Because here, the subject clearly is 'a set of strings' (singular noun) which is in agreement with 'runs' (singular verb)

I know this is a video for comparisons, however we can't neglect a huge error of subject-verb agreement right?
Please explain..

Hi, in question 3, I was confused between A and E, but I went with E. My reasoning-> 'but' implies something in contradiction to what is stated previously i.e. 'November is the strongest month for sales' whereas what we see is a statement in support of this. Can anyone explain why this is wrong>

So is as many than an incorrect idiom or did it just not work out in this specific sentence (I'm talking about the last Q)?
