QS is a hindsight data point that is purposefully vague in calculation, used to encourage costly experimentation. If you're tempted to care about this metric, don't walk, run.

I look at bounce rate and time on page as indicators more than quality score.

sorry, but this is bullshit. sure, cpa / cvr / roas are the most important kpis and you need to look at thos 90% of the time.

but imagine one situation, that we had several times:
performance of one of your biggest campaigns is decreasing. after analysing all data you see that impression share went down or cpcs went up at same conversion rates. you find out that your quality score went from 9 to 7. do you ignore it? no. you cannot. it helps you to have a deeper understanding what could happened. in this case we found out that the website owner implemented overlays (pop-ups) on specific lps which hurt lp experience a lot.

quality score is a metric that can help advertisers, to monitore if my advertising is relevant to the users in most cases. so qs is not the most important kpi, but is a metric to make ads / lps more relevant. and as everything is moving to algorithms within google, you cannot ignore it.
