Seeing both sides...as a landlord and paralegal, any landlord who let's a property be subject to a class action sadly deserves it.

Kevin, one asset protection method that I use is, I hold each property in a land trust with the beneficial interest assigned into an LLC. The only thing shown on the deed is the trustee of the land trust at the courthouse. The assignment to the LLC is not recorded on public records. It gives anonymity to the property owner which is the first line of defense.
