The secret lies in the lemon's citric acid, which acts as an electrolytic solution and allows electrons to pass between the two metals. ⚡
Zinc oxidises and gives up electrons to copper, which becomes negatively charged. The electric wire connects the circuit and makes the LED light up. 💡
This experiment demonstrates the principle of the battery invented by Alessandro Volta, a great Italian physicist. 🇮🇹
