You don't need Elgato's new Camlink to use your DSLR or camcorder directly on your PC or Mac as a webcam, all you need is any capture card, like Elgato's own Game Capture HD, and the cables that come with it.

guys ive got a problem, ive done it precisely like u did but now no matter what i use : skype, zoom, normal windows camera or obs everywhere all kamera icons like the batery life, the zoom, mode, menu etc. are wisible so what u see on ur kamera display (min 1:49) i see now on my computer screen as well, and other people i skype to etc. as well, how can i turn that of?

I have a Panasonic HC Vx981 Camcorder.

I was trying to connect it straight from the Camcorders USB to the Laptops USB (HP Pavilion)

I disable the Laptops Camera but cant figure out to add Camcorder as my webcam.

What does ElGato do? Im new to this.. do i need ElGato for my Camcorder to work as a WebCam?

I have two cameras, one model is Sony DSC-W560 another one is Sony DCR-SR37E. There is no HDMI output on the devices. I am wondering if I can use them as a web camera like the video. Thank you very much.

Then I have to press a button on it to like wake it up
