A dummy battery is basically a normally battery but it will never die because it’s plugged directly into the wall outlet.

The title’s wrong, but I’m pretty sure Sony has software that you can use to plug it directly into the computer with USB so you don’t need a cam link.

Just to be clear…there is only one company making the Cam Link (made by Elgato). For the beginners, you “you will need some kind of” capture card. There are not Cam Links being made by multiple companies out in the wild. Look for capture cards and/or HDMI switchers (like the Blackmagic ATEM mini).

Using an a7iv I’ve been able to stream with just a usb-c cable, I just plug the camera into my computer and select usb streaming on the camera lcd and the select the camera as a video input device. I imagine this would work with other sony cameras. No need for a special battery or capture card

I have a Canon Powershot SX530 HS, it is considered a DSLR, all hookups work perfectly … but still get rainbow screen on my stream labs when I put it in my video capture source
