I, for one, am VERY happy with the “simple” interface of the remarkable 2. It is absolutely perfect for what I need and the way I work. I have other devices for all the other stuff…

For people who say distraction free is just a cover, I actually want to disagree. I have Ipads and surface pros, and no notetaking experience has been as productive as RM2. The software and hardware are both great. Literally wrote 70 pages on the first few hours I got the device.

Witch keyboard feels better, the Tab Ultra or the reMarkable keyboard?

All of those other devices are “overly capable, ” but they get cycled out after just months. I also get that the other companies make your job more exciting. But who is buying all of these devices that get replaced by new models all of the time?

I very much appreciate how reMarkable is in for the long game. I guess I have plenty of devices, including an iPhone and iPad, so my rM2 is there for a specific purpose. If I did not have an iPad or other tablet, I would not get an e-ink device with bells and whistles. iPads and other tablets are just too good at that for me to get, say, an Onyx just because it has an e-ink screen. I get that other people are in different situations; I am just not one of them.

It’s kind of a good example of why capitalism doesn’t work. You buy a really good quality device from them, but that’s not enough. They need to keep selling the people who already bought the product more things in order to keep the company going. And there’s not much innovation beyond the initial product, and maybe the keyboard if you’re being charitable. After it’s out, you mainly just innovate ways of getting money out of your customers with services that don’t really need to exist.

Okay, just get an Ipad. If you really take a lot of notes, you really need to be able to search them. Intriguing device but really not that useful for most people I think. Also, the whole distraction free thing is really cover for it can’t do much.
