Excellent video, Kevin. I ride a'12 Goldwing. She's a beauty on the highway but a pig in a parking lot. Anyway, I rode her to Big Bend last month via Houston to Del Rio to Marathon and had a great time. No traffic issues there for sure. While in Marathon, I met a young man riding an '15 HD Street Glide from Virginia to California and we had a great time just talking riding and bikes. I also met a couple from Switzerland that shipped their BMW R1200 from Switzerland to Lima, Peru and rode it up from Lima to Arizona. I ran into them at Comstock and they were headed to Miami to ship their bike back to Switzerland and fly home as well. Fascinating couple that had ridden their bike all over the world. Keep the videos coming, be safe, and God bless you on your journey. Ed G

Good advice, completely agree about adjusting rather than reacting, it's all about hazard perception. However, this wasn't a great example as the hazard ended up on the white line between lanes so you would have been fine whichever lane you were in. It was also complete luck as to where that debris ended up. I would have changed lanes too for the better forward visibility and dropped back like you did to maintain a safer distance.

The proper thing to have done was as soon as you were aware of it... back out of it!!! Instead you kept on throttle. You're darn lucky that truck didnt have a tire or 2 cut or damaged by that metal. You were in the "blast zone" if any of the trucks tires failed. What happens when a truck tire fails? It blows! You would of been covered and hit with rubber and steel radial shrapnel. Not a smart move. I would of backed off for at least 5 minutes
