Garlic is one of my fave crops to grow.

🧄The bulbs are smaller than last year.
I waited a bit too long to harvest, and some of the cloves are separated on top of the rain we got this year. Not the best year for garlic, but still thankful for this harvest.

🧄What you see in this video is soft neck garlic, and that garlic was store-bought. I have never bought soft-neck garlic bulbs from a supplier. It turned out not bad. But this fall, it will be the first time I ordered soft-neck garlic bulbs from a supplier.

🧄After harvesting the garlic, I don’t wash them, If there is dirt on it. It’s okay. Once it is dried, the dirt will come off easily. The goal is to dry them off.
I hang them on the old trellis rack and let them dry for about a week. It depends on the weather; The rack was placed where it doesn’t get direct sunlight; a shady, dry, and airy area is best.

🧄Then I braid them, and I will hang them in the garage to finish the curing process. And that’s how I will store my garlic this year. Last year I did this, and it turned out the best. My soft neck lasted almost a year.

🧄Also, last year, I did store them differently with two methods. It turned out that the ones I hung in the garage lasted longer than the garlic, I cut the stem off and stored them in the storage, so this year, I’ll continue to hang them in the garage where is not much light but still dry and airy. 👍🏽

Did you harvest the garlic yet?
