I’m watching this video April 9, 2025….SW PA.
I’m just enjoying listening to the birds and basking in the warmth of your garden.❤*Obviously I’m getting some information on when to harvest the garlic I planted last fall for the first time and (I’m hoping mine turns out well)-but it’s I think 25° out andI’m just so over the winter. It’s lovely to see your garden and hear those birds in the background.❤❤❤

Thank you, Jenna. Your video has the best information and pictures that I have found. Simple and to the point. I am a senior woman living in a senior community that I am fortunate enough to be able to garden. My challenge is the drying space. I have around 100 plants and I think I found a place to dry them. HAPPY ME.

Rescued some garlic from my neighbors yard who passed 2 years ago. The idiots working on the property just mowed down the garlic, so I went over and dug up as much as I could.
Planted in grow bags last fall, no where else to put it. Harvested about 10 days ago, turned out pretty good, in hind sight I should have amended the bags, had cucumbers growing all summer. I do not know the varieties of garlic, some are kinda purple, just naming it all Martin.
So many videos on harvesting and curing garlic, yours was the most clear and precise. Why I did not seek this video out sooner is beyond me.
Garlic is still curing, gave some away and will find a better home for it this fall.
Enjoy your videos! Stay Well!!!!

Jenna, thanks for the Ohio zone 6 video on garlic. I live in NE Stark County and it is mostly in 6B.
late October in '23 I planted hard neck garlic in a raised bed. It's now 6/24/24 and not ready yet.
I feel that I should wait until around mid July to harvest. I cut off the scapes 2 weeks ago.
Well done on your video, one of the very best among the numerous garlic blogs.
So happy to hear from an experienced garlic grower in Ohio.

Your neighbors from Ontario say Thank You! Great suggestions...I had just harvested my first batch, and as they were drying in the hot sun (ten mins) I literally ran 🏃‍♂️ out and now they rest in the shed with their fan :)😅

I have been growing garlic 🧄 for nearly three decades now. In my opinion that was really good sound advice!

Thank you for sharing this! My first year growing garlic, also here in Ohio. I grew it in a 4’x8’ raised bed and now have ~150 bulbs of garlic hanging and curing in our garage with about 80 shallots planted in a similar bed at the same time last fall. Checking this as refresher to make sure I remember when curing is done and what comes next. Very helpful, thank you!

Definitely helpful content for me. I recently harvested my Hardneck Garlic (1st time). I washed off the dirt before putting to dry. I saw a video that stated that you should never wash or get the garlic wet 😞. I am in Zone 6b, planted my garlic in early November and harvested in mid July.
