I honestly had no idea that Mick was going to retire but it’s also understandable, he’s a hell of a player but John 5 is a super talented guitarist and a great guy so I’m looking forward to seeing him with the Crüe. Honestly, Mick Mars is what made the band what it was back in the day. That biting guitar tone is what separated them from all the others. For some reason on the later albums the tone wasn’t as aggressive. Underrated guitarist for sure!

I was actually on the “TWO “tour bus doing a meet n greet with our radio station in Spokane Washington when John got the call to come join Marilyn Manson. It was an historic rock moment that played out in front of us.. He says to us “Wow, well I’guess this is IT..I’m gonna be in Mansons band!” We sat in amazement at the news that had broke in front of our eyes.

In my opinion it doesn't matter what guitar player takes Mick Marr's place. Mick was a huge part in Motley Crue's sound and identity. I am glad that I got to see Mick one last time this past June, because without him it won't be Motley Crue in my opinion. He earned his retirement. I am amazed that he did it for as long as he did.
