Thanos wasn't God. But even though he seamed unbeatable to everyone, Stark literally made Thanos bleed in Infinity War. So.... there's that.

It's easy to imagine he'd have a vast intelligence network and would pay attention to any major news and characters on any civilized planets. Stark is a very famous person on Earth; a key name in arms dealing and technology, renowned for his scientific mind. That all would get Thanos' attention

He's also been involved in thwarting the efforts of those Thanos sent previously

After all, Howard Stark left behind the map of the element’s nucleus, and personally examined a speck of the tesseract. And Captain Marvel (regardless of her being a Mary Sue) is imbued with tesseract energy which gave her flight, and invincibility.

Ppl forgot Ebony maw was his tech genius when Tony blew up Thanos ship he had Ebony maw rewind the surveillance footage to see who blew up the ship that caught the attention of the said the avengers are dangerous....fury replied they surely are the world knows it every world knows it. Plus Ultron showed Thanos a vision from the septure when Ultron didn't defeat the avengers he said I'll do it my self cause everyone he sent has failed
