In THE DEVIL'S CARNIVAL, trusting Tamara (Jessica Lowndes) thinks she's caught a line to pull her from the depths of her waking nightmare. But this safety vessel is manned by none other than Lucifer himself (Terrance Zdunich) and is headed directly to the mouth of Hell.

After a triumphant collaboration on 2008's cult hit REPO! The Genetic Opera, Bousman and Zdunich had no where to go but down. ALL THE WAY DOWN TO HELL! Come experience their new musical film, THE DEVIL'S CARNIVAL.

THE DEVIL'S CARNIVAL features twelve original songs, written by Zdunich and Saar Hendelman, directed by Bousman, produced by Sean E Demott and Joseph Bishara (Insidious), and stars Victoriandustrial rocker Emilie Autumn, Dayton Callie (Sons Of Anarchy, Deadwood), M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan (of the Grammy award winning, cult metal giants Slipknot), Briana Evigan (Step Up 2), Sean Patrick Flanery (The Boondock Saints), Maggie "Captain Maggots" Lally and The Blessed Contessa (of The Bloody Crumpets), J LaRose (Insidious), Jessica Lowndes (90210), Mighty Mike Murga (of Mini Kiss), internet star Hannah Minx, Ivan Moody (of the chart-topping heavy metal band Five Finger Death Punch), Bill Moseley (The Devil's Rejects), Ogre (of the legendary industrial band Skinny Puppy), Marc Senter (The Lost), Paul Sorvino (Goodfellas), Alexa Vega (Spy Kids), and Zdunich.

This song is also known as: "Go The Fuck To Sleep".

I once watched a review on this movie, and in it the reviewer said "If you like this song, then you'll love the movie." And to be honest I think that's one of the most accurate things I've ever heard.

"In all my dreams, i drown" That line seems to symbolize how each time she Tamara gets into a relationSHIP, she ends up paying the price .

I wish all horror movies had more singing in them.

This quote came to me before I was just to drift off the dreams: ‘The road to hell is paved with good intentions.’

Basically, even if she’s has the purest of souls, she eventually drifts down because she won’t say no. She takes all the temptations over and over again even it kills her.

There's something very "Phantom of the opera"-esque about this video...

This is one of the most darkly seductive songs. It pulls at your heart strings almost as if your soul were a violin.

After listening to this on a loop, I think the interpretation is this: her punishment is that for not learning from her mistakes and being a "helpless" victim, she is trapped as a puppet in a repeating loop. She awakes, is forced to repeat and do everything The Devil says, he promises that she is going to drown, and then she dies. Only to wake up and start the entire process over again.

The Devil gives her the opportunity to speak for herself, as there is one verse where only she sings. But she chooses to try and coax him into not killing her by more favors... "The Devil you know is better than the devil you don't" in a literal sense.

She seems to be aware she's in a Hell Loop, since she looks right at the camera and acknowledges she knows where she's going... "to the mouth of HELL."

Drowning isn't a quick death. He's literally letting her come up for air, and she still chooses to be dragged down to the depths. And she can't pretend she didn't know she was going to drown, since he responds to her plea of "in all my dreams I drown" with "time to go to sleep, " essentially warning her over and over that if she chooses to continue, she is going to die.

So when she doesn't take the opportunity, he resumes with her as his puppet... And it begins again.

It's actually a really fascinating way to musically explain her punishment and I am obsessed with this scene!!

I have to say, for this being a privately funded movie, I gave it easily a 5/5. It really is fantastic to watch and the singing is amazing. I must have watched it 20 times before I realized Hannah Wagner was in it.

How I really interpret this scene. Is that's she's singing the opposite. She's dreaming, a suppose wonderful relationship, but when force to sleep, it's as if saying she'll wake to a nightmare, or to reality.
Especially when Tamara lays back, she opens her hand expecting her lover (the Devil) to hold her hand but instead grasp her wrist forcefully.
Instead of saying 'It's time to go to sleep, ' - "It's time to wake up from this dream, "
Tamara begs not to sleep and is willing to do anything, even take to being scolded at so long as she's stays in that delusional vision of hers, even when there's figuratively and literally Hell surrounding her.

I love this film so much! This and Repo! The Genetic Opera, Terrance Zdunich's voice is eerie but sexy!

Terrance and Darren actually answered this during the TDC tour. Tamara was always playing the victim by choosing terrible men in her life, however, there is a point in time where you are no longer the victim when you continue to make choices that are bad for you. That is why she was sent to Hell. Because she continually played the victim.

This song is very hypnotizing. Then again, it's supposed to be, especially when Tamara falls for the Devil's spell.

Hello?
Is anyone there?

The ship, it swayed, heave ho, heave ho,
On the dark and stormy blue,
And I held tight to the Captain's might
As he pulled up his trews.
"You haven't slept, " heave ho, he said,
"In many suns and moons."
"Oh, I will sleep when we reach shore, "
"And pray we get there soon."
He said, "Now hush love, here's your gown."
"There's the bed, lantern's down."
But I don't want to go to sleep; in all my dreams, I drown.

The Captain howled "Heave ho, heave ho"
And tied me up with sheets
"A storm is brewing in the South"
"It's time to go to sleep"
His berth, it rocks, heave ho, heave ho
The ocean gnashed and moaned
Like Jona will be swallowed whole
And spat back teeth and bones
He said, "Now hush love, here's your gown."
"There's the bed, lantern's down."
"But I don't want to go to sleep; in all my dreams, I drown."

"Captain! Captain!
I will do your chores
I will warm your cot at night
And mop your cabin floors
Scold me, hold me
I'll be yours to keep
The only thing I beg of you
Don't make me go to sleep"

The sky it flashed, heave ho, heave ho,
His pillow toed to the brink.
The curtains ran between my legs as we began to sink.
I closed my eyes, heave ho, heave ho,
As the ship was rent and fell.
Eddies in the water headed to the mouth of Hell
"Hush now, hush love, here's your gown."
"There's the bed, lantern's down."
"I'm begging you please wake me up
In all my dreams I...."

I love this song. So creepy, mesmerizing, and catchy. I think one of my favorite things about it is that they aren't singing in harmony, it's like she is parroting him but at the same time... sort of like a puppet. I was taken by it right away. Best song from the movie, wish it had made it in.

I like this scene because It makes Tamara look like she has so personality and gives a lot of room for character development. Plus you know she's not trusting a knife thrower who won't say what happened to his wheel gal.

I actually know what is happening in the song and what it suppose to do if it was in the movie and not the credits.

After Tamara was shot by her "lover" (not the scorpion, it was her ratty boyfriend) and trapped in Hell, she first thought that whole thing is just a dream.

She was saying, "Am I...dreaming?"

I watched The Devil's Carnival when I had a really bad case of the flu, probably the worst case I had ever had, and in my half-delirious fever state, I watched this video over and over and over. Now every time I hear it, I think of being horrendously sick. I kind of ruined it for myself. XP
