For 2024, the #HyundaiElantraN gets some upgrades the it’s controversial front fascia, along with new lighter forged wheels and updates to the suspension and steering. This #ElantraN remains one of the best performance bargains in the market.

Happy Friday everyone! The Elantra N may come across as the underdog next to the Civic Type R and GR Corolla, but this car is still one terrific value and still one of the best handling FWD cars on the market. It essentially gives you 90% of the goodness of a Civic Type R but with a $10k price discount!

One thing that I will always point out as an N owner is Hyundais commitment to Nthusiasts. They actively work with the N clubs to get drivers out to race tracks and track the car, invite them out to Korea, and etc. I haven’t seen any other company do that either regular drivers

2023 EN owner here. Lots of fun and noise for 34k, even with DCT. A lot of hate online on this car just because it’s a “HyUnDaI” but performance per dollar is amazing.

Owned 1 for almost 2 years now and this car is so underrated and one of the greatest against the competitors

A 2022 Hyundai Elantra N DCT owner here with 30k miles on the clock, 2 years 3 months daily driver, 7 days driving this amazing car. 25 to 27 mpg between cities in 40 minutes diving in the morning and evening, the car is also go road trips to Florida with 38mpg and to Texas make 40.4 mpg. Track racing, autocross, Road Trip to the mountains between the Carolinas. Not issue yet. For the money, recommended.

In BMW fashion the Elantra N with octane learning done actually puts 280-290 to the wheels so it's really at like 330-340hp crank, Thank you Albert Bierrman 🏁

I factory ordered her through my dealer. Getting it late summer. 6 speed manual, white, with mud flaps and all season mats, at MSRP.

One thing I’d like to mention as an N owner is that you mentioned how “stiff” the vehicle is In N mode which although true that’s more for track use. Everyone should note that you can customize your N driving experience in the custom settings. There you can change how stiff your suspension is, how much performance goes to the engine, how open the valves for the exhaust are and how stiff the steering can be. Which ultimately can make your N mode experience a lot more comfortable.

You can customize a whole lot more but just a side note.

Awesome review. I did however want to make a correction though. At 17:04 you state that the back seat does not fold down but it actually does. When you look in the trunk you can see the release tabs towards the top.

As someone who bought the 2024 N (DCT model) this weekend, I have to say it's a complete blast to drive. I had to go 450 miles to find one, and it was absolutely worth it. It has amazing grip and handling even when wet. It accelerates beautifully and I have experienced no turbo lag. The amount of customizing makes it a techie's dream. The shifting of the DCT is extremely good (and a definite step up from the 7spd dry-clutch DCT of the N-Line models, something I can say from experience). The exhaust, acceleration and handling, puts a ten-mile wide grin on your face just like the reviewer; it certainly does for me. I can hear it calling from my garage..."Drive me...Drive me..."

Great review @theredline .I agree, I would like wireless CarPlay; I would also like Hyundai to start offering all-weather floormats (I will be buying Kagu 3D ones shortly). I think the new key fobs feel a little cheap compared to the old ones from 2019-2020. I also agree with you on the hatch bit; if the i30N had come to North America at any time since I discovered the N-Line/N series (I own an Elantra GT N-Line as well), it would be in my garage.

While I'd love the hatch even more, I still really love this car.

been saving money for a new car for a long time and was looking for one of these. My local dealer called me and said they had one on the way and I just put down my deposit. I am extremely excited for my first sports car

My girlfriends 22 Elantra N is a blast but she did have the DCT replaced at 11, 000 miles. 27, 000 now with no problems. I have a 20 Veloster N and it's been flawless except I had the wheels replaced under warranty because of the clear coat coming off. The only gripe I have is 6th gear is too short. 3100 rpm at 80 mph gets annoying. I'm guessing the Elantra N manual has the same gearing. Just a tip if you'll be doing a lot of highway driving.
