Ghetsis really was an evil genius in Pokémon black and white and N stood no chance if he tried to take over Team Plasma. God the story in Pokémon Black & White is so damn good

Ghetsis is easily one of the coolest villains in a Pokemon game, he has so much aura!

Other evil bosses: "This child is a nuisance, please go away."

Ghetsis: "Kyurem, use Kill Child."

Don't forget that Hydreigon has access to "Frustration" which deals more damage the less friendship it has with the owner. Ghetsis' Hydreigon *despises* him.

In the manga, Ghetsis's team was actually meant to perfectly counter the protagonist's team. And it did almost perfectly.

nah it's not only a hard counter to N
but a KILL SQUAD FOR ARCHAEOPS

pretty cool ghetsis’ hydreigon alone has a super effective move for all 6 of n’s pokemon

He's definitely the most terrifying villain- not only for his motives, and methods, but how competent he is at achieving them. This dude built an entire cult with the manpower to build an ENTIRE UNDERGROUND CASTLE. It was so large, that there are entire splinter groups of Plasma, and Neo-Plasma members that oppose, or still support him. He's also probably the only villain in the series that has a team that could give Cynthia a run for her money.

It’s odd that Ghetsis was able to prepare that thoroughly to beat N’s team when N completely changes his team every time you battle him.

The more you dwelve into Getsis team, the more you realize how well thought it is.

Not only he chose his pokemon team as a failsafe mean to keep things in control, showing how prepared he is for his plan to succeed. But it's made clear that he treats them as tools only, even forcing them to evolve sooner than they're supposed to (neat detail, Hydreigon knows frustration at max power, meaning he hates Getsis).

would like to point out that in the rainbow rocket timeline ghetsis most likely did in fact demolish N's team and immediately killed him afterwards for the dragon

Wild, he was ready to obliterate N if he didn’t follow orders. Another awesome detail for this game, thanks for sharing.

Ghetsis was one of the only villains who would have killed the maincharacters right on screen

In retrospect part of this might just be that Ghetsis has good type coverage. Hyriegon countering N’s whole team is probably something though.

ghetsis is smarter than any villain, he tries to kill the protagonist instead of trying to shoo them away

Not to mention seismitoad also has a good match up against both dragons. Water Ground counters reshirams fire. And is straight up immune to electric

Also him in B2W2: *Hydreigon with frustration*

I always considered gen 5 as the peak of the game series because of dragon types, an immersive story (in regards to both 1&2), likable characters, the ability to bring Pokemon over from older generations, unique game features and mechanics that got dropped in gen 6, and, of course, a villain that's not afraid to turn a child into an ice sculpture.

Also do not forget he was also the first Pokemon villain to show up with a full team of 6 AND at champion level.

He was a genuine threat that required the intervention of all gym leaders, defeated the champion by proxy (N), and acquired the legendary, something no villain had done before.

Bro heard N speak once and came out swinging with the expert belt.
