Thank you for a clear demonstration. I am a new owner of a clamp meter for use with my isolated 12 volt auxiliary battery in my vehicle, which runs my 2-way radios, emergency lights and accessories. Happy boating.

I have watched various other YouTube videos ref clamp meters, others say you can measure also on the negative to indicate current flow.
So how do you account for your ref to clamp jaw positive direction importance?

Great video...Question:  I wish to measure dc load on negative conductor on a positive ground telecom power plant. Which way should arrow on clamp be pointing? Would it be safe to say the correct current load would be the direction in which current measures highest?

if you put it on the wrong direction it will just show a negative but the value should be the same.
