Measuring Electrical Current Above 10 Amps

How do you measure electrical current when it is above 10 amps? Most multimeters are limited to measuring 10 amps. In this video we will show you how to use a clamp meter or amp clamp to measure both AC and DC current. The meter I am using is an Extech MA445 which is capable of measuring both AC and DC current. This is a Hall Effect type meter which is preferred over the more basic transformer style amp clamp.

Nice. Thanks for this info. Too bad that regular voltmeters just can't go more than 10.

There shouldn't be any battery drainage when the car is parked over night otherwise you would have a dead battery every morning.
