I would greatly appreciate your perspective on “harm OCD.” I think a lot of people have it at some point in their lives, are terrified by it, suppress it, and go on thinking they are horrible, evil people. I was relieved when I finally discovered I was not alone

I have the diagnosis OCD, ASD, Social Anxiety Disorder, Depression, PTSD and I suspect ADD. Honestly this looks like I am just collecting conditions with this extended list but sadly it is all troubling me. I don’t necessarily think I have a personality disorder though, but I do have characteristics of some of the Cluster C personality disorders! Both Dependant Personality Disorder as Avoidant Personality Disorder (which sound counterintuitive but they are both based on anxiety). And yes everyone can relate to some part of a personality disorder probably but I recognise real problems affecting my life so that’s why I mentioned it.

I have OCD, OCPD, ASD, ADHD, and had early onset schizophrenia, and was having PTSD attacks at the age of 6 and have C-PTSD. I've also have an arachnoid cyst in my left occipital lobe and have had level 4 brain injuries on multiple occasions which negatively impacted my mental health. I'll most likely be taking medical euthenization in the future which will be legal for me this year. I'm refractory, so the suffering never stops. It only worsens.

Can you please do a video on how to be an adult and go about getting assessed for ADHD and even autism? I'm seeing so many adult women getting diagnosed and we thought I was ADHD my entire life, my son is diagnosed. How important it getting a diagnosis especially if you're uncertain if you would even try medications? Thank you Dr Grande 🌵

Interesting! I am no expert, but my brother was diagnosed years ago with OCD and later a psychologist said he had some narcissistic characteristics. Ironically my brother reacted as a typical narcissist would do, denying everything and blaming the psychologist. I know my brother very well and after learning about narcissists I am convinced he is one. So, yes, I can see a commonality her.

I’m OCD and BPD. My mom is OCD, BPD and ADD. My little brother, in my opinion and after lots of research, is schizotypal or just a massive narcissist.

I have OCD (and am a compulsive list maker), as was my father, there must be a genetic component. I don't have a PD that I'm aware of, but my father had antisocial traits/behaviors like compulsive criminality, sense of entitlement, addiction issues, was manipulative, vengeful, self centered, and was very charismatic/charming. I have a couple of those traits as well... makes me wonder if there's any connection to other PDs?
As always, great upload, I'm fascinated with correlations.

Hmmm. Aggressive obsession. I’ve not heard that b4. A stalker might have an aggressive obsession, or a spouse, maybe? A person who is overly obsessed with a sports team to the point of being aggressive about it? Or I guess an athlete could have the obsession as well. So needing to win at something, which could be a board game or poker, the aggressive behavior could come out.

I think my husband likely has OCD, he honestly has a difficult time parting with anything (even empty boxes), and he is so afraid of Covid, he won’t let me go into a store even with N95 mask/gloves. I humor him, but instead of believing you can live safely with precautions, he seems more afraid of it and almost panics. His doctor is aware, but hubby just thinks he’s smarter than everyone else, he’s afraid of long Covid. Anyone heard of this???
