At 94 years old, Sir David Attenborough has had a truly extraordinary life. He has witnessed the great wonders of the world but also the impact that us humans have had on it. His voice - more lucid and coherent than anyone's - has inspired and captivated millions across the globe, leading him to become the undisputed father of the modern nature documentary. He is a living legend, a spokesperson for the natural world and an activist for a more sustainable global future.

I was born in 1981 David Attenborough and Marty Stauffer from Wild America were the first two people to teach me about animals I’ve been watching animal documentaries literally since I was old enough to sit up and watch TV David Attenborough‘s voice always reminded me of Winnie the Pooh when I was a kid He’s always been one of my favorite people

He is a living legend. He has dedicated his life to saving our planet and animals, now its upto the next generation to take up his work. This man deserves a nobel prize for his dedication to our planet and all its inhabitants.

Possibly the greatest public educator of natural history the world has ever seen. Thanks to the BBC for making such an inspired choice. I'd have to say he probably attracted a lot of female viewers to these programs with his looks. He also wasn't too proud to work in the field and get his hands dirty.
A new book published by Austin Macauley Publishers titled From Chemistry to Life on Earth outlining abiogenesis in great detail is dedicated to Charles Darwin, Carl Woese as well as Sir David.
