David Attenborough takes a micro view on the insect world, this time teaching us about the fascinating metamorphosis of caterpillars and butterflies

Metamorphosis is a biological process by which an animal physically develops after birth or hatching, involving a conspicuous and relatively abrupt change in the animal's body structure through cell growth and differentiation. Some insects, fish, amphibians, mollusks, crustaceans, cnidarians, echinoderms, and tunicates undergo metamorphosis, which is often accompanied by a change of nutrition source or behavior. Animals can be divided into species that undergo complete metamorphosis ("holometaboly"), incomplete metamorphosis ("hemimetaboly"), or no metamorphosis ("ametaboly").

From David Attenborough's Micro Monsters: Over the course of three episodes, Sir David Attenborough takes viewers deep into the world of bugs. Pioneering macroscopic techniques allow Attenborough to explore in unparalleled detail the intricate, sophisticated behaviours of fascinating creatures and the complexity of the environments they build and inhabit, in a world normally hidden from the human eye. Each of the three episodes explore a different aspect of the little-known lives of insects, from the deceptive defensive mechanisms harboured by spiders and scorpions, to the creation of colonies and how social arrangements develop.

Its mind blowing the potential of life and evolution. All of the possible ways life can develop. The vastness of that potential is beyond comprehension. I like to imagine a god like entity w the ability to "browse" any perspective in existence, to step into the awareness of a creature to know life through its eyes. Kinda like we browse youtube videos.
