No shakedown or hiking experience. Your clip of the guy laughing was funny. I would suggest taking your time and being patient with yourself as you develop your routine. Then things will become much easier and comfortable.

Hi Juliane! I love how casual your videos are and how natural you act in them! Thank you for answering all the questions! It really helps to get to know you and that's my favorite part of following thru hikers on YouTube! I admire your determination and I have no doubt you'll make it all the way!
The wind shouldn't concern you too much since you'll be in the green tunnel most of the time. Yes, you'll go over peaks and balds but for the most part you'll be in the woods. I have the same rain jacket as you and even though it's not the best for rain, it's great windbreaker!
Keep up with the great attitude and open mind for what's to come on your adventure!
Happy Trails!

PA isn't all bad. The first 100 miles is actually kind of nice. The last 20 miles is hell, especially on a heat index advisory day. Thought I was going to die that day! In between there are some rough sections, but they tend to be only a mile or two long. They like to throw those in just to be a PITA.
Having hiked thru PA 4 times, and quite possibly a 5th time this spring, I have a love/hate relationship with PA. Hope you can rise some more cash. With only 3700 to start with, you will really have to watch your spending.

I start March 5th. I lived in the smokies most my life. I know what to expect but still nervous and humble about the possibilities. You're amazing! I know you have the will and might to lead us all to katadin. Trail name QueenDancer! Long live the queen 👸 🤘

Great video. I love your intro so much. Dunno about anyone else, but whenever I see your YouTube handle, Elton John's "Tiny Dancer" starts playing in my mind but with Hiking Dancer 😆

I live reasonably close to the trail — if you find yourself in need anywhere between Lynchburg, VA and Shenandoah National Park (or even a bit further either way, if the need is great!), feel free to reach out. My wife, daughter, and I hosted a through-hiker of the Eastern Continental Trail last year and we found it quite rewarding. We are not a “hostel”, but can offer a place to rest, send a package, etc.

You would be surprised how generous this community can be. Share your gofundme with us. You will be safe on the trail there are so many people on the trail with you. Good luck
A video everyday is ambitious but I am looking forward to seeing them.

The Pennsylvania rocks start after the 501 shelter and end at the Delaware Water Gap. There are alot of trail angels in that area of PA .

So...I'm just a day hiker. I pick a handful of Youtube hikers to follow each year on the three triple crown trails because it fascinates me to see that level of commitment. Some make it, some don't. I will say that, barring injury, you're going to complete this trail. I am sure of it. I see it in you. I am very much looking forward to seeing your journey. Get out there and kick some ass.

I think you pegged it — you’re hiking for yourself. Enjoy the camaraderie that comes along, but don’t tailor your hike around someone else’s schedule. If you happen to sync up with someone, that’s awesome, but you will meet SO MANY people out on the trail that you will never be lonely! I hiked a section with a friend (from Germany/Bulgaria, by the way — grew up hiking the Alps!) — I told him right up front that he was welcome to hike with me, but there was no way I was going to try to keep up with him!!! It was a wonderful trip.
