Packing up in the morning takes time. Be very careful not to forget anything. Beep Beep. The hip belt should be carrying most of the pack's weight. Take it a little easier on yourself. Have fun. Good Luck, Rick

Great job, nice positive thoughts. A tip, when i worked and hiked i wore a thin like nylon socks then the regular hiking socks, that way the two will slide against each other and will take the friction off your skin.Hence less sores or red spots. Blackritz

Hi, I found your channel via Geocaching Kaity's Thru-Hike vlogs :) Started watching your channel from your intro/gear/shakedown pre-hike days and just now getting to the actual trail with you! I've enjoyed your story so far, and I hope things are still going well. Strange comment, but I'm glad you said some other hikers have an attitude about YouTubers. I had been wondering what the general mood was on the trail about the filming and the tech. From what I've seen (my VAST experience of watching 3 YouTubers, lol!) you are all very aware of others on the trail and are respectful not only of their privacy, but of what you want in your video--vlog your own vlog, so to speak ;) Anyway, I thought it was yet another honest moment from you, and helpful to get that perspective. GA-ME on!

I had intended to follow you this year on your thru-hike, but I forgot to subscribe at that time. So now I get to follow along in the off season!

If your foot is moving to much in your shoe 👟 definitely don’t get a bigger shoe 👟 The best shoe Ive found to lock my foot down in is Salomon Speed Cross 5… They are more for trail running, but I hike all the time in them. You’re doing great 👍 Happy hiking 🥾

Road Runner! I like it! You have a good plan for your back and toes. I look forward to seeing what the outfitters have to say. Great videography during your approach to Blood Mtn Shelter!

Roadrunner, I don't think you're weird to find beauty, and to be so excited, climbing Blood Mountain. Seeing the old stone shelter makes me want to be there. Thanks for posting.

Hey Roadrunner, my wife and I are really enjoying your posts. What you are experiencing with your toes is called toe jam. On downhill sections you are jamming your toes into the front of your shoes. This is caused by two factors: having shoes that are too large, and planting you toes first when hiking downhill. When going downhill you need to plant your heel first, roll your foot forward and push off with your toes, in a heel to toe motion. Good luck on your hike. We are rooting for you!
