Stephen Hastings of the Scots Guards joined David Stirling's L Detachment (the SAS) in the Western Desert in 1942. Here he describes two raids he was involved in, including a graphic account of the strike of Sidi Haneish Airfield, and his impression of David Stirling and Paddy Mayne.
