My sister is doing her Ph. D in "Ancient History" And her topic is "History of Vatsa Mahajanapad which is one of the famous janpad in ancient 16-Mahajanpad". The capital was " Vatsa" currently known as "Kaushambi" Which is holy place known as "Baudh-Nagari" Where "Gautam Budha" came many times for enlightening his soul. After this King "Ashoka" had developed this Nagari and established "Ashoka's Pillar" Which was later moved in "Akabar-Kila" in "Prayaagraj". Besides " Baudh-Nagari " this historic place was the birth place of "6th Tirthankar of Jainism-Swami Padmprabhu" And his "Tapo-sthli" is in "Prabhash-giri" King "Jaychand-Fort" is also in "Kaushambi". The natural " Alwara-Lake" now it's listed in UP-govt. Tourism-Destination. So many historic incidents from "Ramayana" to "Mahabharata" mention this place'-divinity and due to its closeness to "Prayaag" But very few people know about this coz our earlier govt. has never taken interest to develop this place as a international tourist place. Now, two temples (One is Jain and an other is Baudh-temple have been built and in its last stage of completion).
I've only a little bit knowledge of our history but my sister always says that if we had qualitative-historian like-Iranian, Misra, Unani, Chinese etc then today world would be overwhelmed by so many wonders of Indian history. But first the "Mughal" And later "British" govt. completely destroyed our history and later "Indian pseudo-Librandoos" like -Romila Thapar and other leftist try to change our history and even successful to include in our education system.
We should demand from the government and also encourage to young-historian to re-write our history for which we should proud of.
