Decided to try and set up my iPad Pro as a 3rd monitor to my ThinkPad X1 Extreme laptop (2nd monitor is an hp curved screen tabletop...definitely NOT mobile). I used the Splashtop Wired XDisplay app because I am a grad student and always pinching pennies. After a bit of work through and self-troubleshooting, I got it to work...beautifully!! This will be great to have my iPad Pro as a 2nd monitor when on campus or traveling. Thank you for the info and tips TheUnlockr!! Awesome!

FYI- If you are running macOS 13.xx Ventura, you can simply add the iPad as another monitor from settings/ display, as long as handoff is enabled on both devices. Works more consistently than connecting via bluetooth menu where mine simply refused to connect calling it "not allowed" for a brand new iPad Pro and mbp16. Also, you can add multiple iPads this way, if you need to to give yourself more workspace... if you are say, working at a hotel for a few days trapped, like I was recently. Nice vid and very straight forward. kudos!

Sadly duet changed to a subscription system which is way more expensive (~30€ a year). Are there any solid alternatives?
