If you can actually "hear" this, you are being protected by it. 😂

That is a beautiful sound. The terrifying sound is the alarm and loud speaker saying incoming, incoming, incoming. Hearing the Ram go off was awesome. I saw many of these in Afghanistan and it saved many lives.

This is second to the A10 Warthog gun for me. Both fantastic sounding weapons!

Most of the explosions are not from the target being hit, rather *they are from the rounds self-destructing, * so that there are no small grenades raining down on unintended targets on the ground!

Being in Baghdad for 15 months, I can tell you that you LOVE that sound and can’t stop to not look. These machines are the best

C-Ram (which is usually installed on the ground) & the C-Wiz (which are installed onto naval vessels) are some of the coolest military tech i've ever seen. They literally lock on to targets and determine by themselves weather said target is Hostile. They achieve this by using radar, Flight data and several other programed parameters. There's videos of a C-Wiz locking on to a Boeing 747 and just staring it down before returning back to it's neutral position. What's even more Crazy is how long this Technology has been around, the first Phalanx system CIWS was first produced in late 1970s and was Implemented in 1980.

Imagine chilling on a plane and getting blasted by one of these

Fun fact: the small white explosions are just the rounds exploding in the air, this is because the CRAM in question (known as the centurion) uses self destructing bullets, which are used to prevent the actual bullets from falling down to the ground after being fired and unintentionally causing damage

I was at Al-Faw palace back in 2010 when we took some IDF one night. I was on the roof eating a midrats sammich when about 6 of these things started collanderizing the sky. Best fireworks show of my life.
