Western Digital Black P10 vs. Toshiba Canvio Basics - BEFORE YOU BUY!

Welcome to TekToyzGaming! In this video I review both the Western Digital Black P10 and Toshiba Canvia Basics hadr drives. Only one is named a 'Game Drive', but which one is actually better for gaming?? I perform some benchmark tests with CrystalDiskMark and show side by side comparisons of actual file transfers to see which is truly the better performer. Watch this before you buy!

Before any setup, go to This PC > Manage > Device Manager > Disk Drives > find your disk, right click on Properties > Policies tab and enable Better performance (and write-caching if possible).

There is a version of the Toshiba which is the Toshiba Canvio Gaming, I would really like to know which is superior in speed, the Toshiba Canvio Gaming or the Western Digital Black P10, since I want to take advantage of Black Friday promotions to buy one.

I use a 2Tb WD P10 for some older games and various sized files between my gaming laptop and gaming desktop. Obviously not for newer AAA games but for general purpose its a good cheap option. Considering the ridiculous cost of an m.2 NVME 2Tb, you really cant go wrong with either the WD or Toshiba.

Bought 2 Canvio Basics (2tb each) to move about 380gb worth of files accumulated since high school to 3 out of the total 4 years of college. Both failed to run properly after 3-5 hours when becoming heated up as the transfer speed was 22 mb/s on average, and that made me wonder if all the canvios are like this.

Toshiba is a little bit faster, But WD is better protected if your taking it outside.

I have a question, that no one seems to be able to answer. I have a PC windows 10 P, Acer TC865 and it will not read any external hard drive. I have trouble shot this things for months, have done every remedy under the sun. What happens is, I plug in the drive (which works with every other computer under the sun) and it crashes the USB ports. It's the craziest thing. Then I have to bring the computer up and down like 5 separate times to bring her back. The computer has no viruses. Any help?

I have another issue maybe you could help me with. I have been on social media since 2010 and NOTHING I do is being seen, and that's just not possible. Is there anyway that my AVAST virus protection is some how blocking people from seeing me? Like I bro, I could cut someone's head off holding it bloody in my hands and no one would see it. Take twitter I have 800+ followers none of them interact with the page. Gab 7K f, none of them interact with the page, FB 500F, something is going on, and I need to figure out what. ANY help would be deeply appreciated...

The size affects the architecture of the drive, having a 2tb to a 5tb will make a difference. This is not a good control test environment on both hhd!

Would the Toshiba Canvio work for BOTH ps3 and PS4? Its the only one i can find and all it says compatible with playstation but which? Or both?
