You can play your ps4 games off it but the main reason I'm ordering one is I don't have to keep deleting games and then spending time downloading them again . With this I can store rhe ones I'm not playing then when needed just transfer the data 3 times faster than downloading them again

You can play ps4 games off of it. However to play ps5 games you need the M.2 SSD that goes in the ps5.

It still seems ideal for cold storage for games that any gamer might not get back to for a really long time while finishing off other games on those other SSD’s

If you reformatted the drive to NTFS, then indeed you won't be able to play games off of it (if attached to xbox or ps), but if you left it as exFAT filesystem type, then you should be able to play drives off of it.
For PC, both NTFS and exFAT is fine.

They one you're showing is also for all platforms, while WD offers a variant specifically aimed at consoles, I"m not sure if that part matters though, probably not.

He messed up, the ps5 will use this hard drive only for ps4 games. He means it won't play ps5 games off of it because it's not fast enough it will only store them until you move them to faster storage to play for ps5 games. Ps4 games work fine on the ps5 with these HDDs

Not true lol you can play games off of it just not PS5 exclusive titles or many X/S optimized games but a lot of older games are perfectly playable I have so many games on GamePass loaded on my WD SSD that I play directly off of

So I’m new to this… if I get one of these for my ps5 (digital)… would you essentially just shuffle the games you aren’t playing into the hard drive and upload a game from hard drive? Does that make sense? Thanks in advance.

You can play any game off those drives if they're not made for the SSD. Kinda wrong on this one.

You can play last gen games directly from the external drive. I have one with my Series X. I can play Xbox One games off it. But for Series X games, I have to transfer it to the internal memory in order to play.

It's a total scam. I got this thinking i would get an extra 2 terabytes to play xbox series x/s games on(they even advritize it for x/s). And it won't even store them! Don't buy if you want x/s. I'm suing!

Now I could be wrong about this, as I have YET to be given an actual straight answer, but I don't believe that the P10 is an ssd, but rather, it is an "hdd", which, unfortunately basically means it has a disk that spins around very similar to the old SATAs

I'm using this for the PS4, and I wanted to copy my capture gallery to the drive. I still have captured memories from 2018 Fortnite back when I used to play it amongst other videos that I'd like to keep for myself. Be aware, you CANNOT upload your capture gallery to these drives, only games, NOT the apture gallery or saved game data. For some reason, you can only use an USB stick to upload your capture gallery to. But external hard drives like the one in this video will only be allowed by the ps4 to upload games.

I wouldn’t recommend this HDD I have had the 5tb version for years for the one s and now I’m having corruption issues and can’t launch games from it regularly and have lot of stuttering when I can and crashes, it also overheats
