I’m 68, and I can’t believe I used to watch this every week, in 1962 and 63. I remember it being one of my favorite shows on TV. Our standards then weren’t ruined by CGI.

Im 72 yrs.old and I used to watch this as a kid way back in early 60's, I would hurry up with my homework when I got home from school just to be allowed to watch it, thank you for posting this, brings back such good memories of a very different lifestyle, a gentler world.

This takes me back 60 something years. One of my favorite shows as a kid. My number one favorite was "The Whirlybirds". Chuck and PT were my heroes. Thank you YouTube !

This was my favourite show as a child, I'm 65 and still remember it, as it preseeded the Thunderbirds. 😊

I’m in the UK and lived near a town called Slough. There was an industrial estate called Slough Industrial Estate. Next to a side road, Dover Road, over a railway line was the long single story building where all these were made
I was 7 and with a couple of friends we used to sit on the bridge road embankment and look down into the building. We saw Fireball XL5 being pulled on wires across a moon like table. We were lucky once when Silvia Anderson came out with some drinks for us. She explained that they would have to put blinds up at the windows because of the light
We never got to see in again but for a few weeks we did. I didn’t realise we were watching history

Developed in the UK in 1961...it was first shown in the US in January 1962...it became the #1 kids show in the NY area...then in 1963 it was being shown in more than 140 markets. Loved this as a kid back in '63. CLASSIC!!!

*I was a little boy when I enjoyed watching Supercar show on TV back in the early 60's. It just made me homesick watching it over again now in 2023. Thank you for uploading it.*

This was a favorite show when I was a very young boy in the early 1960"s. There was also Stingray, Fireball XL5, Davey and Goliath, Gumby, Captain Kangeroo, Capt Delta (CA) and then my favorite show in the latter1960s STAR TREK! I am 65 now. Found memories of childhood.

For me, these tv shows were a very special programs when I was a child. I build my own scale collection Supercar. My fascination for the science began with this kind of programs. Thanks to Garry Anderson Productions for these tv shows series on 60's. Now I'm a 66 years old retired Aeronautical Engineer and Astronomer. Greetings from Mexico.

Good to know that Mike Mercury could solve the engine problem by "turning it off and on again".
Had the toys, loved the show, but I was 5 years old then. It must be 60 years since I've seen this. Thanks for posting - it stands up much better than I expected.

There's an important lesson here for civilian pilots. When you take your little brother flying leave the darn ape at home. He'll only make things worse throwing the emergency supplies overboard. 😂

Of all the 60s shows I remember, I think this one was the best. I remember others too - Fireball XL5, Davey & Goliath (Goliath was a dog) ohhhh, such memories!!
