I was lucky enough to buy a 2009 Maserati QP 4.7 V8 (yes the one with the 435 bhp Ferrari built engine, with a top speed of 170mph) just over a year ago and my God what a car! It looks so serene and beautiful, but when you put your foot down, it just turns into a tiger! The exhaust sound is just incredible and the Gernan manufactured ZF gear box (the same one is fitted to the BMW X5) is so seemless that you don't even know that you've changed gear, other than the power surge from the car. I've always wanted a Maserati QP since I was 14 years old and 30+ years later....I finally got one. The only regret is I wish I got it 5 years earlier. Today's Maserati's are just not the same anymore and they no longer fit the Ferrari F136 Y wet sump engine (one with the red painted cam covers), which in my view is a huge mistake by Maserati. The QP was essentially a 4 door Ferrari but today it's lost that edge with its Chrysler built engines. So if you want to buy one, get one with the 4.7lt engine 2009- 2012. You won't regret it.
