To make it clear. Rowan Atkinson attended to classic car races with his Ford Falcon Sprint and it had the original untouched engine of 260 cui 164 hp engine in it. He was the only one that had an american car in these races and he raced BMW, Morris Minor, Mini, Volvo and so on from the same era and these races was weight to ratio-classified so the races would be fair play.
The European cars could acctually hook up with Atkinson on the straights but when it came to corners it was the torque of the V8 that let Atkinson win many races with his Ford Falcon Sprint.
He was even interviewed about his Ford Falcon on European Top Gear, this means even if his car was stripped as a racing car the engine had to be original. So the narrator got that completely right.
But it isn't easy for you people that doesn't know the entire facts about his Ford Falcon Spirit, saying that the narrator got it wrong and bla bla bla. No this time he was right.
