Woodworking Tip: Dado Blade Caddy

There’s no doubt that a dado blade is a great accessory for a table saw. The only issue is keeping track of the scoring blades, all the chippers, and the shims. Here’s one easy shop-made solution — a plywood tote.

I like your elegant and visible solution. If it were me, I would make them as a box with nested cloth or foam. Like many woodworkers, my garage is my shop. We can’t build basements in Houston. Currently my garage registers at 101 degrees and 80% humidity. Open containers like yours allow rust to build up on the blades. However I also find that foam breaks down in the heat. Any suggestions? My saws, hung on a big pegboard wall, look pretty sad, although I try to keep them clean.

Also good for storing dull blades, and transporting them to your local sharpening shop.

This is nice, but IMO routing a deep well into the wood to recess the blades so they sit below the surface would make for safer handling so as not to get cut on the sharp edges of the blades teeth.

1:01 Couldn't you epoxy the washer to the wing nut too? 💖🌞🌵😷
