"The easiest way to get in a group is claim you're trans" this guy has NO idea how false that is.

I love the conversation that there are more LGBT Gen-Z as if the AIDS epidemic didn’t decimate the gay population for almost two decades. Yes, more people are more confident and comfortable coming out, but also more of us are living long, healthy lives and conservatives hate that.

As a medical doctor, the anorexia comparison is not only cruel but is also insultingly stupid. The diagnostic criteria of gender dysphoria and AN are different, the experiences are different, goals of treatment and prognosis are different. They are only comparable to people who heard the word "identify" one time and decided they were not interested in any further understanding.

Dysmorphia is not Dysphoria. One is looking in the mirror and seeing what isn't there. The other is looking in the mirror and seeing what is there and knowing something is horribly wrong.

i will never not be furious whenever these people talk about the suicide rate, depression, isolation, etc. of the LGBTQ+ as if people like them aren't a major factor in it.

"82% of trans people have considered committing suicide"

Even granting the statistic as is, I wonder if sermons like this could be part of the problem...?

It's actually sickening because they boil gender dysphoria down to a girl who would rather watch Top Gun than Legally Blonde but also say that your genitalia should determine whether or not you're allowed to hold a job outside the home, have an opinion in the church, and be shamed for what you wear if it's not modest enough. Makes me sick to my stomach. I hate these people and they ruined my childhood. Also when you realize your parents support sermons like this and don't love you for who you are it feels like a part of you has died.

Serious stuff aside, listing Paul and Morgan in the triggers list is 100% accurate and made my day.

I an trans. My parents are evangelical ministers. When I came out, their reaction was anything but loving. I felt very alone. Thank you for speaking on this

claiming that "kids just say their trans to be accepted" while actively expressing that your community does not accept trans people is the epitome of gaslighting.

I like how Allen Parr says he watched videos of gender affirmation surgeries and it was 'gross and not natural'. Has he ever seen any other surgeries? They are all pretty gross, and they are all definitionally not natural. But nobody freaks out about someone getting a knee replacement, even though they're removing the natural knee god gave them for an unnatural construct of metal and ceramic.

I really hate when people say the "trans issue" or the "trans debate". It's not a issue it's not a debate, it's just people trying to be happy

I'm only 12 minutes in and I can confidently say these men have never talked to a trans person in their entire lives

It's amazing how the church has gone from "the flesh is nothing, the soul is everything" to having such an obsession over the body.

as a trans woman, this is so unbelievably condescending. i'm not some lost baby with no sense of self who just adopted a fake identity to "get in on the in group" or "because they were applauded." my first introduction to trans people was my religious parents saying vile things about trans people. so ridiculously sick of these people who pretend to just be concerned parents to mask their burning disgust.

I kinda love when they're "you're not trans you just like [stereotypical gendered thing] why can't you be a masculine woman/feminine man" as if they're not the one who've railed against gender nonconformity all this time. They don't treat tomboys and whatever slur they prefer using for feminine men any better than trans men or trans women. They won't go "Oh sorry you identify as a man? Guess I won't tell you you're going to hell for wearing a dress".

I’ve had two LGBTQ+ friends die to suicide before we even turned 20 years old. Any of these people who flippantly disregard how their actions contribute to this will always disgust me.

the idea that its EASIER to be TRANS is actually insane. I came out in 2016 and it was literally hell. It would have been easier to be cis and it still would be easier to be cis but I just dont feel the need to pretend im something im not

From a trans supporter, I definitely appreciate this!

Also, kinda funny how these types think people "trans themselves" for popularity points. As I'm preparing to dive into transition, I'm doing so with the understanding that I'm subjecting myself to a level of potential violence that I've never experienced, even as a "cis-presenting" Black man. My parents hate trans people and my brother is only a shade better. My current partner would be supportive in theory but I may also lose the only person I feel could ever love me for me. My job prospects would plummet, and I have a promising career as a BIOLOGIST ahead of me.

I'm doing this because I'm tired of kidding myself and I'm finally at peace with my life and (ironically) mentally healthy and strong enough to finally let the world see the real me, even if it ultimately costs me everything.

I even fully intend to mostly continue to remain closeted after transitioning, even if it'll be a very "trans"parent one 😂.

I am ONLY doing this for me.
