Yes, we were taught to do this with babies with exema and skin rashes. It does help. Not sure how, but it does.

When my son was a baby he got ringworm on his face. My MIL put a penny in a cup of his urine. A couple of days later she taped the penny to the ringworm and it was gone the next morning! Mama Mai might be on to something

Yes, my grandparents said to do that to help with skin conditions. Urine has urea which is found in skin/beauty products.
