If they don't have a warrant or probable cause they are armed intruders. This is a crime and we always have that right.

I don't know if I should be mad or happy about this. It's a bit insane either way

If youre entering unlawfully then you are not entering with the protections of an officer.

That would be nice to have for all states.

It sounds reasonable. Do we have any data on before vs after that law was passed on unlawful entry by police?

Two things, how do you confirm they have a legal warrant? How do you avoid getting shot? I thought cops entered with backup.

This should be done everywhere in the world if police kick your door down by mistake and running with a SWAT and you shoot until police officer you should not be held liable if they shoot and kill you because you shouldn't kill police officer they should be charged with murder

Even if this is legit good luck trying to act upon it. Law enforcement usually finds a loophole or makes up some excuse to justify entering your home illegally. 9 times out of 10 there’s 0 accountability when it comes to law enforcement violating your rights or straight up committing murder that they claim was justified.

See the only problem with that though you might shoot one or two but usually if they are doing a raid or something they’re going to be like 5-10 and you may shoot one or two but the others are gonna gun you down might be legal but how does that help you if your dead??

This is absolutely 💯 right! Cops aren't supposed to violate the 4th ammendment. Period!
I guess a few stupid or bad cops will die. That's called thinning the hurd!
Better screening of who becomes a cop should be paramount in hiring.
Maybe hiring former special forces vets isn't such a good idea!

As an Illinoisan I hate Indiana and love it. It’s like a sibling thing but this law has always made me proud of my special needs brother state but I want and have never gotten an actual break down on how this law would work in practice a lot of conflicting answers
