He’s like the happy grandfather of horror art. Even if it doesn’t scare him he only has positive things to say and enjoys seeing their creativity.

Horror authors have two types of personalities, either they seem like horror writers or they look like your average Joe on the streets and have such a wholesome attitude. He falls under the second and I love it

Junji Ito is the Bob Ross of horror and no one can change my mind.

I notice Junji Ito finds situational horror more effective than than simple visual horror. While complimenting all of the images, he seemed to be more interested in ones that showed more than just the monster, i.e. Siren Head out in a cemetery or Creature Redacted after realizing the smiling monster has consumed a person. Additionally, while pretty much all of his art is unsettling, it's the stories they're telling that make them into horrifying. The twisted bodies at the end of Amigara Fault are frightening, but knowing the full story of how they ended up that way makes it stick. I wonder what his reaction to something like All Tomorrows would be. Many of the drawings of the imaginings of man's future are gross and scary, but adding in the story of how they came to become that through evolution or genetic manipulation brings it to the next level.

why does everyone keep trying to scare Junji Ito? The dude's a literal Eldrich being. Anything we show him is basically the equivalent of macaroni art you put on a fridge!
