First of all, PPP is just a theory its not practical. Someone earning 100k in USA can save almost 1-1.5 lakhs INR easily per month which is not possible in India.

This PPP is just an average. Services might be 7 times costly, Health care might be 10 times costly. So if you happen to spend more on these things, you can't save much

Also the rupee equivalent of dollar savings which is normally used for comparison has no meaning if you decide to stay back in US forever.

Salary is a secondary thing. For better law and order people move to abroad. Salary now a days is the same in terms of PPP in India and abroad.

don't make your decision just on basis of ppp if you get a chance just go abroad gain some experience and then come back to your home country and if you want to settle abroad then there is no problem because you will get more opportunities there as well as you and your family can live in a pollution free environment and also there is a lot of quality of education and government schemes benefits which you can avail

In Bangalore if you compare same quality of home like villa with 3000 sqft rent comes around 2-3 lakh, all gadget and products cost more than usa. Only the food part is cheap. If you like to live in a same standard of living then India is not cheap.

Still PPP doesn't apply to all the things, like cars, petrol, electricity, electronic devices. Also nri come to India and spend a lot of money and buy things from here. Also the tax you pay in usa gives you a clean environment, free education for kids. So usa wins

Thanks for this PPP comparison of salaries in both countries.
I don't think anyone moves to foreign countries just for money because you will lose so many other social luxuries.
But if you are in a nuclear family setup here in India should definitely move out

You can not say it is easy to get a 5 b 4b sfh in 700k-800k. It depends on the location. If you are getting 5 b 4 b house in 800k anywhere in US, definitely the salary will be on lower end. A couple of people I know are ready to pay $1.5M and still not getting 1990s built 2000 sq ft sfh. It is not that they do not have money. They make more than $450k annually but the prices and bidding war is just super high unless they go for townhomes and condos. Also, you can get a loan paying just 5% down payment but your rate of interest will be very high. It has never been ideal to pay less than 20% for down payment unless you are buying an investment property.
