Coney Sauce

1 lb ground beef (cooked & ground finer)
3/4 c flour
3 cups beef broth
1 & 1/2 tbs vinegar
4 1/2 tsp chili powder
1 tbs dry onion
1 & 1/2 tsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 & 1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp pepper
1 & 1/2 tsp salt

Roux: cook 1/4 cup oil with 1/4 cup flour
Whisk constantly—Cook until dark

In a bowl, Combine 1/2 cup flour with 2 cups broth whisked well. Add to cooked roux, whisk and add all spices, sugar, & vinegar.
Add more broth to desired consistency.

That shrimp on top of the rice looked like a restaurant meal when you were done with it. Honestly this is one of my favorite channels you really inspire me to use up the food I have instead of running to get more or going out to eat thank you for that

My favorite method to keep rice from stickiness is to rinse it until the water is no longer cloudy, drain thoroughly and then sauté the fully drained rice in a little bit of fat (oil/butter) until it changes color before seasoning and adding your cooking liquid. Works every time for fluffy, flavorsome rice. 🍚

Oh I definitely want to try your coney sauce. I’m probably just missing it but did not see your list of spices…

Thanks for the great ideas. One of my favorite make-ahead meal preps is to cook a package of chicken breasts or thighs in the Instant Pot along with ingredients below the rack for chicken stock. I freeze the stock and dice or shred & freeze most of the chicken.

The reason your rice sticks like that is because you don't wash it. It has too much starch.
