Riding the EP8 until it stops in -13C

How far will a Shimano EP8 powered bike go in properly cold weather? We took our one-off Merida eOne-Sixty with a 500Wh battery and the EP8 motor for a ride.

We haven't had the chance to ride a similar ride in summer temperatures, so we don't know how much range is lost. We'll try to figure that out in a later video.

I tested the range of my Cube Stereo Hybrid with 500 Wh Bosch power tube in -10 degrees Celsius today, all the time in EMTB mode on a techy single track with substantial resistance from loads of semi packed snow, 350 m elevation gain, weighing 85 kg with backpack, Magic Mary front at 1.2 bar, Nobby Nic rear at 1.3 bar. I got 20 km out of the pack according to Strava (+1 km from sliding on the climbs, I guess:)).

I rode my YT Decoy base (E8000 motor) from home to the dojo and back, total of 40 klicks in minus 20 C and against the wind for the first half of it. It was mostly flat, but I did use boost to climb any uphills on the way. Majority of the time I was riding on trail (70nm torque, 95% power). When I got home the range was calculated at 1km. Quite perfect for a trip practice, I'd say. :D Past Fall I was riding with a friend for about 60 klicks variable terrain, mostly in eco and trail. Only spent 2-3 bars total on the battery. Nordic weather is a bitch on electronics.
