Three individuals were reportedly assaulted in Bengaluru on Wednesday for chanting "Jai Shri Ram" slogans, according to the police. The incident occurred near Vidyaranyapura around 3:20 PM when D Pavan Kumar, Binayaka, and Rahul, all in their 20s, were traveling in their car and chanting the religious slogan. They were stopped by two men on a motorbike who allegedly verbally abused them and demanded they refrain from chanting "Jai Shri Ram".
A video of the incident, recorded by one of the victims, emerged on social media. In the video, an individual outside the car is heard objecting to the chant and insisting on "Allahu Akbar" instead. Subsequently, the situation escalated as the victims got out of their car to confront the duo, who were soon joined by three others. The group allegedly assaulted the trio with sticks. As a result, four men have been arrested in connection with the incident.
