If this wasn’t captured on CCTV, Punjab police would’ve denied the whole thing.

Never take your gun out in public until it's necessary
Never point your gun at anyone if you don't intend to hurt him
Never put finger on Tigger if you don't intend to fire
Of course never show off it's not a toy

My father told me that if you own a gun you must follow some rules:

1) Never ever in your life point a gun towards a living thing until it's important.

2) Never ever take out your gun in public unless you feel to do so.

3) Never ever in your life think that the gun is unloaded or locked. You will never know until it's over.

4) Respect your weapon and treat it like it's your own child.

5) Always think 1000 times before you fire at a living thing.

Suspended only? He should face more punishment and his gun licence should be taken away.

Nothing can be done about such accidents but one must learn and be wiser.
I had this very same incident in my village where a shopkeeper left his loaded shotgun in the shop as he came back from a hunting session, his two teen sons were attending the counter as the older son grabbed the shotgun and did so in an unsafe manner (without checking the chambered round and finger on the triggered, weapon sholdered ) his younger brother tried to snatch the gun, unfortunately he was at the wrong end of the gun and didn't survived
Another same mishappening was avoided in my neighborhood as a boy was pointing a broken rifel toward his sister unaware that it was repaired and loaded as well, but due to fortunately being aware of the firearm safety he moved to a safer location behind his house and started fiddling with the weapon the hammer slipped and i heard a loud gunfire i realised there were no adults at the neighbors house or a firearm so out of curiosity and some worry i rushed toward there house to check and on the way i caught the boy at back of the house holding the rifel in utter shock, i realised it was a negligent discharge asked him what he was doing with the weapon and asked him in what direction did he fired he pointed toward the trees and made quite a hole in one of them, he told me to stay quit about it, his sister was on the first floor started scolding him for playing with the gun, then came down and explained the whole story to me, and some other guy came and they joined the commotion but the kid was so cunning that he argued that he knew the gun was loaded and intentionally fired it!
But the mark he made on the planted tree was saying otherwise and we teased him about it till this day Thank God it was a tree though
Treat anything with a trigger that even remotely resembles a firearm as a lethal weapon (to avoid habit/muscle memory)
