How do snakes breathe while eating?

How do snakes breathe while swallowing large prey? Inside a snake's mouth is a tube called a "glottis". They breathe out of this tube. it acts kind of like a snorkel allowing them to breathe while eating.

For everyone saying "what about their nose, their nose is useless". They don't have a nose :) those pits are heat sensors. They smell with their tongue. The tongue picks up the smell and they press it against the Jacobsens Orgsn in the roof of their mouth. They can then smell whatever their tongue picked up
